This office provides a forum for the resolution of consumer complaints for any financial institution chartered in Maryland. When you mail a complete description of your complaint, be sure to include all supporting documentation. Someone from the complaint unit will contact you when your complaint is received.

Both Howard and Montgomery County have Consumer Affairs Divisions that accept complaints about businesses in their jurisdictions. They will also provide information about local companies.

The Office of the Attorney General does not handle most problems with collection agencies. However, they can help if a consumer is having difficulties with a creditor who is collecting debts.
